What are the Top Paint Color Trends 2016 in Naples Florida? {Part 1 of 3 Series}

Are the Top Paint Color Trends 2016 bright and bold or clean and neutral?  Read on to find out!

Part 1 of our 3 series on 2016 Trends begins with the Top Paint color Trends.  Last year, the 2015 paint color trends were neutral, neutral and more neutral.  Especially here in Naples, the coastal contemporary look really started to catch on and become standard due to our proximity to the beach and tropical lifestyle.  As we set into 2016, we are finding the top paint color trends have expanded their reach.  While beachy, coastal contemporary colors are still the rage the trends are also reaching out to different themes.

2016 Paint Trends

Grey – You will see this color the most throughout the home due to its functionality and being able to easily add a pop color and change out the colors as the upcoming trends change.  It goes along with everything and comes in hundreds of shades.

Black & White – This trend will also continue to stay and similar to grey, the neutral combination allows you add different textures and dimensions in a room to change the feel without changing the wall color.

Bold Colors – Accent walls are making a comeback, adding a pop of color to any area in the home creates a striking contrast, bold lines and definition. This is especially important to utilize with an open concept floor plan as it breaks up large areas and creates definition of spaces.  Any bright and inviting color can be used here but safe choices are bright greens and yellows.

Pretty & Demure – Soft colors such as coral or blush pink can be paired with neutral colors like Champagne or off white.  This feminine look gives off a comfy yet elegant and sophisticated look for a bedroom, office or family area.

Coastal Contemporary – A trend carried over from 2015 for Naples Florida involving soft blues and greens, read below on how you can implement it in your home.

**Another important thing to note is again due to our geographic location, the neutrals in Naples tend to be lighter than most other areas around the U.S.  For example, in the midwest a latte colored paint is considered a good choice for a neutral look, but that doesn’t cut it here for buyers in Naples.  They are looking for light, crisp, and airy paint choices so when deciding on any neutral color mentioned above, please opt for a lighter version.

A Continuation of Coastal Contemporary

Think sea glass and light sea foam colors swiped across the wall creating a calming, peaceful vibe.  Fresh and light are the mood of the coastal contemporary colors, they mostly involve pale blues and greens but also incorporate different tones of whites, grays and tans.  Stylish beach homes up and down the Gulf of Mexico have taken inspiration from the delicate and fresh colors of sea glass.  All shades of blues and greens mixed with off-whites and other neutrals are perfect for any room in the house.  Prestigious newly constructed homes in Naples, Florida from $4-8 million have been using this color palette for the past year, and the movement is here to stay.

Using Tactile Design Elements

The coastal<img src="toppainttrend2016.jpeg" alt="top paint trend 2016 naples fl" contemporary trend brought forth textures which infuse homes with an interesting aesthetic.  If you stick with the neutral tones that are still hot in 2016 and combine elements like wood, shell textures, fur, beads you will keep your interior design on trend.  No matter what your preferred look is (from luxe to contemporary or rustic), done correctly each look will increase your home’s resale value.

“If you can create a relaxing retreat that buyers feel when they step inside your home, they will automatically picture themselves living there, which tremendously increases your home’s worth.” – Ann Zampogna, Luxury Real Estate Agent, Naples, Florida
